(Applications in Clearing Round will only be considered subject to availability of places.)

Applicants should first submit an Online Application here. The Online Application Fee is HK$300.
Supporting Documents
Applicants are required to submit all the following supporting application materials through the Online Application System for Postgraduate Programmes:
- * After submitting an application form via the Online Application System for Postgraduate Programmes, you can submit your confidential recommendations and official transcripts in the same system. (i.e., No hardcopy is required at this stage) Applicants can invite their teacher, supervisor or any person who knows them well to serve as their referees.
- Please also indicate your fields of specialization in your online application (e.g. Chinese history, economy, politics and business, literature, film, religion, culture and society).
- You are ONLY required to send the original copies of your supporting documents in the vetting phase to the Graduate School at CUHK.
General Application Materials:

- Copies of certificates of academic/professional qualifications (e.g. degree/graduation certificates)
- Copies of Official transcripts and grading schemes of all tertiary level studies should be submitted
- Documentary proof showing the applicant has fulfilled the Graduate School’s English Language Proficiency Requirement
- *Two confidential letters of recommendation
- Copies of identity card or passport
- Applicants who obtained degrees from universities in Mainland China are required to provide a valid Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate (教育部學歷證書電子註冊備案表) and a valid Online Verification Report of Higher Education Degree Certificate (中國高等教育學位在線驗證報告) issued by the CHESICC (學信網) together with their degree certificate and graduation certificate

- A research proposal, at least 5 pages in length and written in English
- A paper on a topic related to Chinese Studies, at least 10 pages in length and written in English
- Documentary proof or recognized test results of the applicant’s Chinese ability
- A CV

- A detailed research proposal with areas of research interest indicated, about 10 pages in length and written in English
- A copy of Master’s thesis or sample research paper written in English
- Documentary proof or recognized test results of the applicant’s Chinese ability
- Documentary proof showing the applicant has fulfilled the Graduate School’s English Language Proficiency Requirement
- A CV
