William MORIARTY

Bill Moriarty is a historian of modern China. In 2023, Bill received his PhD degree in Chinese Studies from the University of Cambridge. He researches party-state broadcasting under the Nationalists, as the medium of radio spread worldwide during the interwar years. He is now transforming this research into a book manuscript.
Prior to studying the PhD, Bill majored in Political Science at Purdue University before learning Mandarin Chinese at Taiwan Normal University and earning an MA in East Asian Studies at Indiana University. He also previously worked as a bilingual copywriter and floor director at International Community Radio Taipei (ICRT), worked as a business executive in the China sports and entertainment industry in Beijing, and taught Chinese Studies at Centennial College Hong Kong.
