Application Deadlines

For International and non-JUPAS local students, applications open on October 2. For further details, please visit the OAFA’s website. Application deadlines are divided into the following two categories for admission 2025:

Early Application: 14 November 2024
Regular Application: 9 January 2025

Promising applicants can expect to be contacted for an interview (via Zoom) after receiving receipt of their application. Early applicants who do not hear back from CUHK in December should assume that their application will be considered with the Regular Application pool.

Eligibility 

The Chinese Studies programme admits students through the following schemes with respective entry requirements via the Office of Admission and Financial Aid (OAFA).

• International Students
• Local JUPAS Students (JUPAS code: JS4136)
• Local Non-JUPAS Students
• Mainland Gaokao

Non-local (International) students refer to those who:

1. 1. require a student visa/entry permit to study in Hong Kong; or
   2. are holders of a visa/entry permit under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG); or
   3. are holders of a dependant visa/entry permit who were 18 years old or above when they were issued with such visa/entry permit by the Director of Immigration.
